Oil Pollution Prevented

After discharging the cargo in a oil tanker, the terminal requested for the flushing of the cargo lines with water. C/O decided to do it with the stripper pump, and after creating the necessary vacuum, ordered the cadet to crack open the manifold valve. The cadet instead of crack opening, he opened the valve fully. Luckily C/O saw the vacuum breaking in the stripper pump, stopped the operation and rectified the defect.
